This is a place where users can communicate with administrators, or administrators with one another. You can report vandalism, problematic users, or anything else that needs an administrator's intervention. Do not report child pornography or other potentially illegal content here; e-mail legal-reports@wikimedia.org instead. If reporting threatened harm to self or others also email emergency@wikimedia.org.

Report users for clear cases of vandalism. Block requests for any other reason should be reported to the blocks and protections noticeboard.


Report disputes with users that require administrator assistance. Further steps are listed at resolve disputes.


Reports that do not suit the vandalism noticeboard may be reported here. Requests for page protection/unprotection could also be requested here.


Other reports that require administrator assistance which do not fit in any of the previous three noticeboards may be reported here. Requests for history merging or splitting should be filed at COM:HMS.

Prominent Cat images

I just discovered this page and it points out that the Cat article is a frequent target of vandalism. It turns out that the images on that page also seem to be common targets for minor vandalism. I'd like to suggest that these images (being posted on the intro collage on that page) be indefinitely semi-protected, at least for as long as they're present on that page. Are there any templates that help with such images?

Please let me know if this is feasible.

I'd say it's worth checking for sleepers. Per private checkuserwiki details, especially those about specific software and camera type usage, is worth looking further into this problem per user edits. Looking on crosswiki bassis this is also Livioandronico2013's usual modus operandi - creating sockpuppet accounts, uploading new pictures and replacing old similar pictures with his on xwiki platforms. User:Lebowski97

User has repeatedly uploaded copyrighted agency photographs of a now-retired footballer despite requests to stop. They claim to represent the player and have left a comment saying, "We manage every marketing asset and photograph Georgi Kinkladze owns! This photo is Georgi's and we provided it to Manchester City for sharing. We are partners with Manchester City and we have the rights to everything with Georgi Kinkladze's name," which appears to be demonstrably untrue, as they're mostly, if not all, photographs that are owned and managed by news photo agencies and often marked "editorial use only." Looking at the user's edit history on en-wiki, their main gripe seems to be that they don't like the current article photo.

However, they keep inserting photographs that they clearly do not own the rights to and I don't see any evidence that they actually represent the player (surely they could provide a current photo or an older photo from the player's personal archives?), so I don't see them stopping this behavior unless they're blocked.
